MEADOW BRIDGE – The Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council is pleased to announce that Susan Carothers has received the Appreciation Pin, a national Girl Scouts volunteer honor that recognizes exceptional service in support of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) within a geographic area.

The Appreciation Pin is awarded to adult volunteers who have made a significant difference in areas such as membership growth and retention, fund development, and community visibility—all while displaying the Girl Scout principles of inclusivity and leadership.

Carothers has long been an advocate for Girl Scouts, having shared the experience with her daughter and other girls in her neighborhood.

She has taken an active role in her local Service Unit, holding several leadership positions and guaranteeing smooth operations.

She has helped girls around the region create memorable memories and important growth opportunities by organizing camp experiences, directing events, and coordinating community service projects.

“Susan Carothers truly embodies the mission of the Girl Scouts,” stated Beth Casey, CEO of the Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council. “Her dedication, service and commitment to empowering girls make her an outstanding recipient of the Appreciation Pin.”

The Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council congratulate Carothers on her well-deserved honor and thank her for her ongoing dedication and leadership.
