HINTON – The Summers County 911 Center has received a new truck, which will improve the county’s emergency response capability.

Once fully equipped, the vehicle will support emergency management activities, operate as an incident command center, and act as a mobile 911 unit if the main facility needs to be evacuated.

Officials claim the vehicle will dramatically boost the county’s emergency readiness.

The vehicle will be allocated to the 911 and Office of Emergency Management (OEM) Director, a position that demands round-the-clock availability and frequent travel to meetings, trainings, and conferences throughout the state.

Installation of emergency and communication equipment will start in the next weeks.

County authorities believe the vehicle will be a significant asset in local emergency response efforts.
