In remarks on Fox News, Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) referred to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) as having “a billy goat brain and a mockingbird mouth,” criticizing her on a variety of issues.
“As I previously stated, she is entitled to her opinions. “You know, my personal opinion is that God gave her a billy goat brain and a mockingbird mouth,” Kennedy told Fox News on Tuesday.
“Look, I believe in the power of ideas, but my Democratic colleagues have none. “All they have is hatred for one man, even when he is correct, and that is President Trump,” Kennedy stated.
“And I do not believe that is healthy for them. “I do not think that is healthy for America,” he said.
Ocasio-Cortez has expressed outrage at Trump’s leadership and has spent the last month touring the country to share public displeasure with his approach to massive spending cuts.
Her office did not immediately respond to inquiries about Kennedy’s statements.
Ocasio-Cortez is increasingly being viewed as a potential presidential candidate for Democrats in 2028. She fueled those sentiments by releasing a video highlighting her tour with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), which resembled a presidential rollout.
However, Ocasio-Cortez has not declared a candidacy and has declined to comment on a potential White House or Senate run.
“Listen, this is a video. And, frankly, I think what people should be most concerned about is the fact that Republicans are currently attempting to cut Medicaid, putting people’s health care at risk,” Ocasio-Cortez told Fox News Digital when asked about a presidential bid.
“That is really what my main focus is,” she explained.
The New York representative topped the charts in a March poll that asked which Democratic Party leader best reflected the party’s “core values,” sparking speculation about her rise to greater political prominence.
