The function is expected to transform the buying experience for people who want to research all available options on the internet before making a purchase.

While Amazon currently has a large assortment of products on its website, customers sometimes require items that are not listed on Amazon.

The new tool will allow shoppers to find and swiftly order things from different companies without leaving Amazon’s website or app.

Buy for Me will be immediately incorporated into Amazon’s platform, although customers must look for the Buy for Me button.

When consumers search for a product, they will see all of the possibilities available on Amazon, as well as those supplied by third-party merchants outside of Amazon.

Customers who tap on an item marked Buy for Me in search results are directed to a product description page within the Amazon Shopping app.

This page gives pertinent product information, similar to Amazon’s product detail pages, so shoppers may learn more about the product before deciding whether to purchase it from the brand retailer’s website.

If the customer wishes to purchase the product, they can simply tap the buy for me purchase button.

Amazon will then make the purchase from the brand retailer’s website on their behalf.

Customers will be able to track the arrival of their purchased goods and even file complaints with the brand’s store, all while remaining on Amazon’s platform.

Amazon’s shopping director, Oliver Messenger, stated, “We are always working to invent new ways to make shopping even more convenient, and we have created Buy For Me to help customers quickly and easily find and buy products from other brand stores if we do not currently sell those items in our store.”

“This new feature uses agentic AI to help customers seamlessly purchase from other brands within the familiar Amazon Shopping app, while also giving brands increased exposure and seamless conversion.”

It comes only days after Amazon unveiled a new and more intelligent version of Alexa, its virtual voice-controlled assistant.

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy praised the new AI assistant Alexa+, which will be available on millions of devices, as “remarkable”.

This “next generation Alexa” that talks like a human was introduced during an Amazon-hosted AI event in New York.

Amazon’s Panos Panay stated that the new Alexa “knows almost every instrument in your life” – much like an orchestra director.

This included smart home gadgets, mobile devices, the people you are linked with, and the apps you are using – all in an effort to assist you get things done.

And it will cost you a whopping $19.99 per month (UK price pending), albeit it is completely free if you have Amazon Prime.

Amazon demonstrated how Alexa+ will automatically book restaurants, generate meals, and set timers, as well as operate all of the electronics in your house based on your mood.

“The rearchitecture of all of Alexa has occurred, and I am very excited about it,” stated Amazon’s Panos Panay.

Panay called the original Alexa “frustrating” since it would sometimes mishear you or be unable to assist.

“While the ambition for Alexa has been lofty and engaging, we have been limited by technology up to this point.

“Every once in a while, a technology comes around and it changes literally everything.”

Amazon claims that Alexa is smarter than ever before and will allow you to have human-like interactions with the assistant.

It can find a gift, order it, gift-wrap it, and delivery it to your house with no effort.

The new Alexa can remember your favorite foods, movies, and interests.

According to Amazon, as you use it more, it will become wiser.
