Quinwood Domestic Conflict Gets Worse Police Report Provides Details

QUINWOOD, WV – A domestic dispute on May 1, 2025, prompted police intervention and conflicting accounts from both parties at a Marfrance Road residence. Deputies D.J. Staley and K.E. Pack responded to a report of a physical altercation just after 6:50 a.m.

When they arrived, they found Stephen Wayne McCormick in a truck, recounting a series of events that occurred overnight involving his ex-partner, Michelle Ann Neff.

According to McCormick, Neff took his truck the night before and returned around 5 a.m. Following a late-night message claiming she was “on her way home,” tensions rose when she allegedly stole McCormick’s money and claimed to have hidden it.

An argument ensued, escalating into a physical altercation in which McCormick claimed he was repeatedly hit. In a dramatic turn, Neff allegedly struck McCormick through the truck window and broke items inside the house, including a tablet and a plastic table. McCormick attempted to call 911 after leaving the residence, claiming that Neff had threatened to destroy his property.

Neff gave deputies her account, along with security camera footage. Despite the poor video quality, she claimed that McCormick attempted to run her over and push her to the ground. However, investigators noted that the footage showed no reckless driving or direct attempts to hit her.

Both parties had visible injuries, with McCormick sustaining marks and minor bleeding and Neff displaying signs of struggle on her hands.

Neff is charged with a household battery.
